The Open University of Applied Sciences – one route to a university of applied sciences degree

 
The HAAGA-HELIA Open University of Applied Sciences opens up a path for the completion of a university of applied sciences degree. After you have completed a minimum of 60 ECTS of Open University studies included in the curriculum of one of the degree programmes, or other specified basic or professional studies, you can apply for admission to the degree programme in question. You should keep in mind, however, that this eligibility is limited to studies completed via HAAGA-HELIA or the former Haaga or Helia open universities.

The admission order in case there are many applicants, is based on

• the average of HAAGA-HELIA course grades
• the number of credits in degree programme specified HAAGA-HELIA courses
  (if the students have the same average)
• the results of the degree programme director's interview

Please, note that admission to the degree programme is not automatic, the admission can be denied e.g. for the reasons stated below:

• the applicant has not passed the degree programme specified courses or the applicant does not have corresponding studies from another university
• there are no places or offering for new students in the degree programme (in case only a few open path students can be taken in, the students are put in order on the basis of the average of grades of HAAGA-HELIA courses)
• in the interview it is estimated that the applicant's ability to complete the studies leading to a degree programme certificate is uncertain
• the applicant's language skills as to the language of the degree programme, are not sufficient
• the admission process is not followed correctly.

Degree Programme for Multilingual Management Assistants

Degree Programme in Business Information Technology (you can apply to this programme through the open path if you have started your Open UAS studies at HAAGA-HELIA before 31.7.2012!)

Degree Programme in International Business (you can apply to this programme through the open path if you have started your Open UAS studies at HAAGA-HELIA before 1.12.2012!)

The application period is depending on the degree programme.
