Entrance examination

All eligible applicants will be invited to the national entrance examination taking place on Thursday 26 April 2012 in Porvoo Campus, Taidetehtaankatu 1. Please reserve the whole day for the examination as there will also be information on the programme content, as well as interviews.

The entrance examination consists of two parts:
- written tasks: multiple-choice questions, essay and mathematics-logical tasks
- oral part with interviews to test the English language skills as well as motivation and preparedness for studies in higher education and travel and tourism industry

The maximum and minimum points in the examination parts are the following:

If an applicant fails to reach the minimum point level in any of the examination parts, he/she will be disqualified in the entrance examination.

There are no pre-reading materials for the exam but all materials will be provided on the examination day. Further information and a detailed programme will be included in the invitation to the examination.

Please note that it is not possible to take examination abroad, but the degree programme in Tourism, Porvoo, accepts results from the same field taken in other Universities of Applied Sciences in Finland.

Co-operation in the entrance examination with other UAS/degree programmes

Applicant who has applied to 1-4 degree programmes that are included in the same field of study and accept each other's results will be invited only to one entrance examination, the result will be accepted in all the co-operating degree programmes that the applicant has applied to. Please note, that only the highest option within the same examination group can invite you to the entrance examination. HAAGA-HELIA's DP in Tourism co-operates with the following UAS/degree programmes:
