HAAGA-HELIA students can apply for transfer from one degree programme to another in HAAGA-HELIA, while taking into account the regulations for one study place in a higher education institution. A student can apply to another degree programme within the same field of education it there is a particular reason to do so. A student may also transfer from a programme conducted in English or Swedish to a programme in the same field conducted in Finnish, or vice versa, for a particular weighty reason. One place per student -provision will be considered as well.

The student must submit a justified application during the admission period of the intended degree programme. The degree programme director will decide about the admission of the transfer applicant after hearing the person responsible for the initial degree programme.

Transfer students will be admitted only provided that there are study places available in the Degree Programme.

When a transfer decision is made, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

• The transfer applicant must have completed at least 25 credits.
• The transfer applicant participates in the entrance examination of the intended programme and gains at least 50 per cent of the maximum points.
• The transfer does not result in any new study right and the remaining study time is sufficient for earning the degree.

Transfer application period for full-time programmes starting in Autumn 2012 and conducted in English language is 9 January - 14 February 2012.
Transfer application period for adult external or evening programmes starting in Autumn 2012 and conducted in English language is 13 February - 30 March 2012.
Transfer application period for master's degree programmes starting in Autumn 2012 and conducted in English language is 13 February - 30 March 2012.
