Minimalist Organizational Design -project (MODe) answers to both the lack of academic research and the challenge companies have by producing new research on self-management, starting a shared learning process, developing new tools and products and by disseminating new knowledge on self-management and self-organization.

The vision of the MODe-project is that an increasing number of Finnish companies are seen as advanced Minimalist Organizational Design -organizations with shared leadership, transparency in information and self-motivated employee engagement, initiative and creativity that enforces company agility and competetiveness. By producing new theory and practice on self-managing organizations, we strive to make Finland a model country of more human oriented organizational thinking.

The research project involves Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Aalto University, University of Tampere and the following companies: Debora, JCDecaux, Metso Minerals, Vastuu Group and Telia. The project also unites Futurice’s and Reaktor’s own research and development projects.
